Bo Mitchell - 911 Consulting & 911 Headcount

Bo Mitchell is a campus safety and emergency preparedness professional who assists law enforcement and school administrators to complete and/or solidify their emergency planning protocols and training. He retired as Police Commissioner of Wilton, CT after 16 years. Bo has worked within both the public and private sectors to ensure compliance of the many federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Bo has prepared a white paper entitled “Protecting Your People and Your Posterior: What are the Standards for Creating Your Campus Emergency Plan?” This is aimed at safety and risk managers on campuses who are tasked with creating emergency plans. Most campus administrators are confused or overwhelmed regarding laws and standards in creating campus emergency plans. In this white paper, Bo summarizes 1) what laws, regulations and standards apply to your emergency planning, training and exercises; and 2) what a lawsuit will do to your school if you don’t elevate your planning and training to required standards.

As Bo explains, “most schools have the mistaken impression that they are mostly, if not completely, in compliance with these regulations. For example, the safety training of employees is required by law; but most administrations don’t understand this and/or are in denial”. Learn the 17 mistakes that almost all campuses make in preparing their emergency plan.

Bo is the President of 911 Consulting and 911 Headcount. He has earned 14 certifications in homeland security, organizational safety and security. He serves clients like GE Headquarters, Health Net, Western Connecticut State University and Sprague Public School District. He also serves as an expert in landmark court cases nationally. We at BeSafe are proud to be associated with 911 Consulting and 911 Headcount. We invite our readers to reach out to them regarding any safety issues or questions that might improve campus preparedness.

Planning for Emergencies

The BeSafe Safety Portal is designed to provide a common repository for a community’s safety planning. It allows information to be updated, shared, and customized to meet all of your needs. The Portal’s value is enhanced by continuous use, application, and customization.

It has been proven that preplanning helps save time and lives. BeSafe’s floor plans have identified exterior doors through a numbering system that is on your floor plan. We also have reflective door numbers that many customers have affixed to their doors, which aids first responders. If you need new or replacement door numbers, please let us know.

As on site resources such as School Resource Officers begin to disappear due to financial constraints, we must guard against complacency and remain diligent in ensuring student/staff safety. BeSafe can help you with this.

911Headcount by 911 Consulting

911 Headcount is the first and only automatic two-way, triple redundancy Mass Emergency Notification System that you can launch and manipulate on the run to account for employees, visitors and contractors in any emergency.

This highly differentiated notification system provides organizations with a robust messaging technology to alert people in the event of an emergency, instruct them on protective and precautionary measures, and accelerate the speed by which the situation is contained.

 That means:

  • You launch 911 Headcount on the run, not handcuffed to a desktop computer when you have to evacuate.
  • You automatically launch messages for every communications platform instantly.
  • Visitors and contractors are included in 911 Headcount
  • 911 Headcount won't give up sending messages until each recipient responds
  • Recipients only have to push a button or click a link to answer whether each one is OK. No voice or emails need be created by the recipient
  • You monitor an on-screen checklist. You watch as red s turn into green s
  • You automatically know your Headcount by the total number of people unaccounted for and a list of their names.
  • You can comply with federal law that requires you account for everyone in an evacuation. You can answer the Fire Chief's question; "Is everyone out of your building? Can you account for everyone?"
  • Triple redundancy ensures that you stay connected to your employees, visitors and contractors as well as the outside world you depend on to come help you
  • So unique that 911 Headcount is patent pending

911 Headcount was created by our Featured Professional Mr. Bo Mitchell.  Bo works closely with the BeSafe team to provide schools and workplaces with the tools to ensure safety on campus and protect employees, students, and visitors.
