NIMS Program:

The National Integration Center (NIC) Incident Management Systems Integration Division (part of FEMA) manages the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS was developed principally to provide a framework for handling large scale emergency events that span multiple jurisdictions and that require responders from multiple specialties. Compliance with the NIMS is a major component of qualification for a Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools (REMS) Grant.
